Why yes it sure has been a while since I've done a shopping spree post on here. But you know, sometimes it just gets too depressing looking at all of the pretty things I want to buy but cannot afford. Lately I've put most of my money into getting some of my work printed out all fancy-like, in hopes of setting up an etsy shop soon and possibly trying to put on a show somewhere here in New York. One of my favorite prints to date, which I had put on canvas and stretched to 40x20, is this shot from last summer, taken with my trusty Kowa Six while on an adventure on Long Island..

Now, moving on to more important things, SPRING IS COMING! Well, I say that, but at this point I'm not sure if we New Yorkers will ever be blessed with such a thing. The weather has been pure trash here lately, and I have to say I'm really over it and would much rather stay in bed for the rest of the duration. Someone please just wake me up when it's over, preferrably with a bloody mary or mimosa in hand. Thanks.

I would also prefer to wake up to a whole new wardrobe to grace the New York parks and beer gardens with. A big hat would probably be fun too. And some massive hippy shades.

On another note, this week I've gotten in 3 packs of super expired Polaroid film, and am very excited that I get to leave Atlanta this weekend to test some of it out. Emil and I will be in Bama visiting parents, and then going to the beach on Saturday for my papaw's 90th birthday party. 90 years old, blows my mind. And he's still hilarious.

So hopefully there will be lots of nice weather and super blue skies to use my magic film on. I'll try and remember to get a shot of papaw too, he always looks so dapper.

The year has started off crazy from day 1 and I haven't had much time to rest, shop, or really eat for that matter.

I've gotten to visit family and old friends, went to New Orleans for 4 days with Atlanta friends, and shot photos for an album cover. oh, and went to the doctor for the first time in 4 years, which was much less horrifying than I remember.

I never, ever wear pink. It's just not my color. However, I got a last minute invite to a party this past weekend and needed something festive to wear. So to avoid the usual Adrienne outfit of all black or various shades of gray, I went on the hunt for something that was still "me", but a bit brighter and a tad more festive.

Old New York

Oh haaaaaaaay!

I'm still super busy being nerdy and taking tons of photos and researching which cameras I'd like to buy, however, I did manage to jet up to New York for the Thanksgiving holiday for a little break. My mother and I stayed with my sister and co. for almost a week, and while it was awesome to get away, I sure am excited to be back in Atlanta.

So we started off our holiday with a quick visit to Little Italy and Chinatown, until I had to make a run for it because Chinatown smells terrible, and I came close to getting sick more than once. All of that fish just sitting out...ugh. So after that, my mom forced me to Times Square so she could find some New York themed gifts for her friends at work. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I cannot stand Times Square. I used to live in NY, I am not a tourist, therefore I have no desire or patience to deal with all of the people that lurk around there. We did however manage to snap a few quick photos before I got too bitter...

I noticed this old church in Astoria, Queens while taking a walk around with my mom. It's near my old apartment off of 31st Ave, but I never really took the time to notice it before. and although you can't quite see all of the details because of the overexposure, I love the way the way my Spectra captured it.

I know it may seem a bit morbid, but this place really was quite lovely once you get out and walk around all of the thousands of graves that must be there. I think it may be the largest cemetary in the US, and is really mindblowing. (photo is a triple exposure done w/ my vintage ciro-flex and expired konica film)

Fade to Black

I figured this little project deserved an entire post just to itself.

PolaPremium recently released some film for the Polaroid SX-70 that's never been seen before, called Fade to Black. Of course being the massive nerd that I am, I ordered a pack of it immediately because it is also very limited. Until yesterday, it had been chillin (literally, har har har) in my fridge for almost a month, so I decided to quit waiting for something exceptional to come along and just try it out while the light was nice.

and here you have it..

I took this photo of myself in our living room because it happened to be the right moment for it. Then I scanned it 20 times during a 12 hour period in order to catch a lot of the color changes, because after 24 hours of taking the photo, it turns completely black.

amazing right?! I swear I am completely obsessed with this film and think it's the most beautiful thing ever. I've already ordered 2 more packs to play with in the coming months.

In other news, I took a recent trip to New York and took lots of fun photos, so I'll be sure to post those real soon. I've been so busy lately I can hardly think or remember to eat.

Sooooo I posted some photos from the Burlesque Camera Club shoot a few weeks ago, but I just recently got back the film shots that I did from that night, and I am in love. For these black and whites I used my 1950something Ciro-Flex TLR. This camera is fully manual, which can be horrifying, but is really fun for the most part. I was worried about it being too dark for these to turn out, but I am actually really thrilled with the results. Anyhow, have a looksie for yourself, and please, let me know what you think :)

moving on, this past weekend in Atlanta was pretty amazing. there was an art stroll in our little neighborhood, Castleberry Hill, and I had several pieces of work hanging down at one of the gallerys at a Push Pin show. I've never put up prints for sale before, nor have I had any sort of public viewing for my photos, so needless to say, I was nerrrrrrvous. Well, lucky night for me, I ended up selling 4 out of 7 prints, and won the title of Best in Show! I was totally stunned that my photo was chosen out of 212 hanging in the gallery. I also had a ton of friends show up, and it felt amazing to see that I have so much support in our little community <3

You know, it is unfortunate that it's too dark to see my outfit very much in these photos. I was pretty proud of it too, because it was bangin! However, I would like to mention that the white top, which is a bodysuit featuring a FIERCE tiger face, is from Forever21 and is probably my most favorite thing I've ever purchased from them. The material is thick so it's not see through, and it fits perfect! I love love love this thing. The plaid shorts were also from Forever21 and are great as well. ...and just when I thought I was over this store, they pull me back in. ugh!

So I'm out for now, to anxiously await the arrival of some new Polaroid film to test out in my SX-70. I'm planning a couple of awesome weekend activities and adventures that will surely produce some amazing photos, so please come back!

I swear that song is still fantastic! I mean it really doesn't get any better than 80's Madonna. You know, before she lost her mind. Anyhow! I wish I could find some festive holiday parties and whatnot to attend, because all I'm interested in lately are party clothes. Fall/winter wear has always been my favorite, but when you throw some sequins on it, I really start to flip out. I know, it's pretty pathetic. As I've mentioned recently, I haven't been doing my usual internet clothing shopping spree/lurk as much as usual because I've been taking lots of photos and spending most of my time editing and such. Well, last week I had the opportunity to take part in a shoot with the Atlanta Burlesque Camera Club, and I happened to pick an an awesome night! The models for the night included two lovely girls that also happened to be FIRE BREATHERS! and a really impressive local aerielist, Melissa Coffey. She was THE sweetest and probably the only person that can still look absolutely amazing while hanging upside down.

Anyhow, here are just a few photos from that night, but they're my favorites so far, so I hope you all enjoy them too. :)

At 2am, I cannot seem to quit thinking about everything I could wear with THESE

..if only I could afford them. sad, sad bunny :(

Anyhow, my weekend turned out to be pretty crazy, but definitely a whole lot of fun. Friday night my boyfriend's band played at some of our friends house and it went way better than I expected. Meaning, the cops didn't show up!

Before the the party, I headed over to Slice for food and a cocktails with pals Dusty and Jess.

We got Dusty to take our picture, but apparently he has a fondness for choosing bad angles, so I won't be posting that one!

I arrived at our funtime shindig with camera(s) ready to go, and after a few VERY delicious sweet tea vodka and lemonade drinks, I was actually running around shooting! You know, I have to get that liquid courage at these events, otherwise I am just no good. Here are a few of my favorites from the night..

That night was fun fun fun, but the next day was rouuuugh. Therefore, Emil and I decided to take a little walk through the neighborhood and have breakfast down at Johnny Cake's. On the way there I snapped this with one of my newer Polaroids..

So while I'm thinking about it, I should probably apologize for my lack of posts lately. I have been nuts busy lately and it's been great, but I haven't had time for much internet fun, other than posting photos to my website and such. One of the most exciting things I've done was help photographer Joeff Davis do a cover shoot for an issue of Creative Loafing. They wanted to shoot the cover photo with a Holga camera, but didn't have one or know how to use one, so they found me! It was actually really cool to see how the real pros do it, and I was totally flattered when Joeff sent me an email later telling me how awesome I was. Score! Anyhow, they shot the cover with my holga and my film, and I directed Joeff on how to work the magic with such a sketchy little camera. So I'll be getting a special thanks in the issue. Yay! Let's hope it gets me some work..

And now, I have to run. Yet again. However, I will be back super soon to post some fabulous clothing items that I DESPERATELY need. Oh! And to share with you all some really beautiful photos I took last night of a local Atlanta aerialist. SUPER pumped about these! I'll be cooped up in my loft editing for the next week...

Wow I didn't realize it had been so long since I've done a post, and now I feel terrible about it! I have been in high gear nerd mode for the past few weeks, along with being pretty busy in general, so I haven't really been doing my usual fake clothes shopping. It is sad, I know. I did however manage to do a slight closet clean out and find an amazing blazer that I had completely forgot about. I bought this thing from The Limited at least 5 years ago, and it still had the tags on it. hahaha..

excuse my messy room and the rolling rack. this is what happens when you have 1 closet in your entire loft. not cool.

I ended up going out that night and wearing the blazer (I couldn't resist), along with some black skinny jeans from Forever21, this awesome black burnout tee with the tiger face is from UO, fatty silver bracelet from Forever21, aaand I broke in these new strappy pumps from Aldo..

then during more clean out fun, I found all of these pins in my dresser!

So that was about it for me actually being productive, in regards to my home anyway. Now, to share why I refer to myself as Queen of the Nerds lately, here are some new additions to my constantly growing collection of stuff..

It's a Polaroid Super Shooter and the Polaroid Big Shot. (Andy Warhol used a Big Shot, and they are awesome)

There you have it, I've been camera obsessed lately and haven't really been focusing on much else. Which I guess is a good thing for me because hopefully it will help me make some money one day! I've been trying to shoot a different camera every day, and so far so good! Here are some photos from the past few weeks, taken on a bunch of different cameras with all sorts of film. :)

these last two are my favorite. these are from last week one afternoon when I talked Jess into walking around with me in the humidity to try out this new Polaroid Blue film. we only got a few shots before it got too dark, but it was fun nonetheless!

aaaaand that is all I have for today! things have been kinda crazy and Emil gets home tomorrow night after being in the UK for a long, long month. I am very excited but also kind of nervous, which is usually the case. now i'm off to browse the ol' ebay for more flashcubes and expired film to feed my obsession, but rest assured I will be doing a PROPER post later this week. I just got the new West Elm catalog the other day and they have so many things I am DYING for!

Oh, and I have to mention this, even though I'm a little behind. Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 is MIND BLOWING. I am really living for it, wow wow wow! Go here!

I haven't done a post like this before, but I find some really amazing photographers sometimes and I'd love to share them with you all. So, here we go!

I stumbled upon Brooklyn based Shawn Brackbill's photography by pure chance (and luck) while I was google image searching for Cale Parks newest album photo. Weird right? Anyhow, I began browsing his flickr stream and lurkin on his blog, and I am now totally inspired. Which honestly, doesn't happen that often when it comes to photography.

Lately I feel like people have been putting way to much emphasis on the post part of photography (too much photoshop, etc), and somewhat forgetting about the fact that you are creating art with your camera. Shawn's work is so simple but so beautiful at the same time, I really (obviously) cannot get over it.

mini-vacay

In just a few weeks I'll be leaving town for a weekend in New York, visiting my sister and some old friends. I miss my old neighborhood in Astoria (Queens) so I get really excited every time I get to go up, even if it is only for a few days. While there I usually meet some friends down at The Sparrow for late drinks or brunch on Sunday, go visit some of the random/quirky stores that are scattered about, and then head into Manhattan at least a few times for a fabulous dining experience somewhere I've never been.

Soooo, you can probably imagine that I really love it when I have some new fun outfits to wear around town. As in, HOUSE CLEANIN! My place has been a total wreck..for pretty much a month now. As you can see, as in example #1 & #2 above. It's been too crazy lately to get much done! :)

So, that is my weekend. Sounds thrilling right?! Hope everyone else is doing something awesome, or equally gratifying I suppose. Also...

Yesterday, I did not want to get out of bed. At all. I'm sure I wasn't the only one in Atlanta feeling this though, as it was quite ugly out and drizzly all day. Blech. All I could think about when I was at work was coming home to do absolutely nothing. So other than a few house chores, I spent the night on the sofa, and it was grand. I did manage to take some photos though, gotta document those good times..

I had a magnificent surprise waiting at the door for me when I got home, so I had to put them on for a photo. They are BEAUTIFUL and my new #1 lovers. Although my toes do go numb after a few minutes, they're totally worth it ;)

Windsor baby was being especially sweet and looking rather lovely curled up on my favorite books, Justine by the Marquis de Sade, and two Giger art books. He's rather fancy, you see. AND have I ever mentioned that we have the same birthday? We are obviously meant to be.

I then headed over to Nasty Gal to browse through their new items and found a few jewels...

aaaaand then, I decided to finish off my night with a little delivery sushi from Aloha, @ about 10pm. I know, this sounds somewhat sketchy. and it was. hence the one roll that looks all wonky. the big roll was kinda pretty though, but for the most part everything was tasteless, so I gave it to cat. he didn't eat it either :/

So tonight, I think I'll be putting on some rain friendly clothes (being some shorts, a cami, baggy cardigan, & sam edelman zoe boots), and stopping by my beloved Elliott St. Pub for a delicious grilled cheese. I love a grilled cheese. and it's cheap! then, headin home early to listen to some new records with cat. the new Kid Cudi and Mew should be at my doorstep upon my arrival home, and I cannot wait! :D

I've talked about my loft before and how much I love it, so I thought now would be a good time to share a few photos of it with you. It's a constant work in progress, hence why you only get a "few" photos. I'll be working on it a lot though in the next month or so and I totally plan to photo document everything, so then you all can see more of my favorite place.

there are only 12 units in our building, which is in a historic area and was built in the early 1900's, then converted into lofts in 93. I'm glad we got an even number.

I have a particular fondness for this nightlight because I remember it being around since I was little. and because it's awesome.

this is our ceiling. all original wood, but the 2 skylights are what make me happy. one is directly above our bed. I get so excited when I can lay there and see the moon sometimes. we also never have to turn on a light until about 8pm, hoooooray for lower electricity bills!

I hung these curtains recently (which are really just cheap sheets from walmart but look awesome) with some thick wire and cafe clips, so we can open and close them at our will. and now I can sleep at night without feeling like I'm being stalked by a random that lives in the building across the street.

those are lights that wrap around and go down the spiral staircase from our bedroom to the living room. which I forgot to turn on before I took this. whoops! the furry rug is from ikea and helps to avoid that first cold step on the metal stairs first thing in the morning.

I scored really hard getting this black wire deer head from Z. Gallerie. it was the only one they had and I'm guessing it was on sale because it was the display, but I got him for only $60! he now lives above my bed, and I love him.

I have 2 of these antique chairs that came from my grandmother's house when she passed away. I LOVE them, as does cat, but have been thinking about getting them recovered in maybe a pale blue velvet. we'll see..

I have painted every single wall in this place, which was not an easy feat, mind you. anyhow, this particular wall is my favorite. it's the back wall in our bedroom and the color is Black Fox from Sherwin Williams. It's a lovely dark grey, and I've painted the 2 doors on this wall black to match the stairs over there that go up to the 3rd floor loft. definitely the best color choice I've made. the clock was an ebay find for $20! well worth it.

this is just a bit of my jewelry. my dad gave me the porcelain hand, which I am so in love with, and I got a vase for $2 at the salvation army, which is what my bracelets are stacked on. I'll take more pictures of this dresser and the rest of my bedroom furniture later. It used to be my mothers when she was little and I painted it all glossy black earlier this year, pretty fancy.

welcome to my nightstand. the candleholder is a family hand-me-down (which I spraypainted white), vintage dude back there is an etsy find, and my little sweet potato man there I've had since I was super tiny. I still think he's so cute and cannot force myself to get rid of him. I know, it is sad.

I'm glad I finally posted some of these though, I've been collecting and talking about it for a while. now, on the agenda for today, polapremium.com has a small stock of 150 packs of black and white (665) type 100 film going on sale at 12. I know I'm so nerdy for it, but I've been sitting here watching the clock since 10, waiting. That film is really amazing and you never find it, so I have to jump on it. and then for lunch, ethiopian food with some ladies from work! apparently this is their new years, so this is how we will celebrate.

Lady / Maniture

I always loved going to my Grandma Kitty's house in Florida because she had the most awesome table ever in one of her guest rooms. I, of course, usually wan't allowed to stay in that specific room because it was the more fancy, grown-up room, but every now and then she'd let up. Anyhow, she had this magnificent glass top table, and the large glass piece was held up by a naked golden man sitting on his knees. It was brilliant, and the fact that I loved something like that at such a young age cracks me up. I obviously enherited my taste for fancy things from her, because no one else in the family really cared for it.

When Grandma Kitty passed away a few years ago, and my dad remembered how much I loved that table, but unfortunately I have absolutely nowhere to put it, so I had to pass. Well, it seems like Kitty and I are not the only ones that enjoy people shaped furniture, because I feel like I've been seeing a lot of it lately. Every time I see one of these pieces, I automatically think of her, and how she would probably be totally into it. As long as it was classy, of course.

So here are a couple of pieces of lady/maniture (as I'm going to call it) that I've gathered up for you...because of course, I can't find pictures of these things when I actually want to use them.

I'm pretty sure that most people hate the boob storage in the first photo. Me personally, well, I would be more than happy to place one in my home. Obviously the lady though. Naked guys...eh, not so pretty. Ok, well I'm in a bit of a rush today, so I apologize for things being a little short. I think I've found my decorating soul mate...

My favorite thing in this room is the taxidermy peacock from Evolution Store. I could totally find somewhere to put one of those in my house. Oh, and I'm loving that everything is glossy black. (hint hint, like my bedroom) at least I know I did something right.

To see wallpaper by Cole & Son that isn't the Woods pattern is refreshing, although, the Woods will still probably be my alltime favorite.

YES PLEASE. I NEEEEEEEED this dressing room. All of those bags wouldn't hurt either.

Le sigh. How fantastic is that place?! I'm loving how much black she uses and the fact that there is wallpaper everywhere. I would kill to be able to put up wallpaper in my place, however, I would not be into taking it down when/if we move. No maam, no thank you.

I just wanted to pop in before the week turned crazy and share these photos. Emil and I will be heading to Lake Eufaula on Friday to spend the weekend with my mom and all of her 10,000 animals, so I won't really be around until later next week. However, she does have an awesome lake place that I've been dying to take pictures of, so I'll be doing that for a post later on. My mom has the most amazing collection of vintage treasures, so much fun.

Oh, so I almost forgot, the photos up up up there are from some adventures last week. So obviously the Sam Edelman boots I mentioned a few posts ago came in, and I am LIVING for them right now, so I modeled them for my Polaroid Spectra. God I really love those boots. and that camera. really. aaaaand then there's friend Jess and I at Elliott St Pub last week for photo night. I wore my new low back silence & noise dress with a grey vintage belt and the sam edelman boots. I thought it was fun!

well, here it is, the perfect small *vintage* desk. of course I didn't find this until AFTER I bought the mini parson desk from West Elm. you can't win em all..

Hoot, Hoot Switchplates - $24 - $18

not sure if anyone has picked up on this, but I kinda dig animal themed items around the house. so I am living for these cute little switchplates. I think I'll sit here and dwell on where I can use these.

Vintage Industrial Stool - $49

eeeek! emil has been talking about getting some stools so we can sit and look out of the row of windows from the 3rd floor of our loft, and these would be perfect!

Contour 1 Arc Lamp - $800

I neeeeeed one of these for my living room, as I am currently trying to overcome the type of challenging lighting situation that happens when you have 20 ft ceilings. I think this tall drink of water would certainly help things out, don't you?

Nelson Sofa - $2675

Oh, you know, it's just the perfect mid-century modern sofa, that's all. No biggie. (really, I cry at night because I can't have it)

Mail Call!!

Oh thank Jehovah and Allah, I finally got paid! I feel like I've been waiting for this paycycle for 2 months, when it's only been 2 weeks. And as usual, I already had my spending planned out. First things first, I'm finally getting my camera sent off for some fixing. My large and wonderous Canon 40D has been on the fritz for a bit and I've been missing out on some good photo ops, and it's making me all bitter inside.

However, the real issue at hand is of course all of the material goods that I feel will enrich my life and somehow make it better. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but I'll definitely feel more festive and fancy. So Friday afternoon, with credit card in hand, I set out for some internet shopping fun.

After the devastating blow I received from Topshop last week (see the previous post), I really thought my hunt for the perfect shoe was about to hit a lull. Then low and behold, I received an e-mail update from Nasty Gal Vintage. Yes yes, I know the name is a little ridiculous, but there's also a little part of me that likes them for it. Anyhow, the e-mail alert was about a boot that they are accepting pre-orders for because it's finally coming back in stock. Now, I have seen this boot before, and I have lusted over it many a time, however, the fact that it would actually be attainable has never crossed my mind.

Zoe Boot by Sam Edelman - $345

And after seeing them waved in my face, looking oh so enticing, I began the hunt for a pair that I wouldn't have to wait 7 - 10 weeks for, and I FOUND THEM! Google is a magnificent tool, you know. They will be mine. Oh yes, they will be mine.

Next, in typical Adrienne style, I hit up my trusty online shopping cart at Urban Outfitters. I know Urban gets a lot of shit for being too trendy and overpriced, but if you do it right, you can get some great pieces to add to your wardrobe that'll stick around for a while and won't break the bank. They tend to have really good sales online too, so that's exactly what I hit up.

Silence & Noise Low Back Dress - $58

I ordered this dress because I am OBSESSED with the low back, and I'm into the fact that the rest is not too revealing, so it's still pretty classy. With some festive jewelry, some sheer tights, and my new boots, I have a feeling this may become one of my new favorite outfits.

UO Sheer Tights - 2 for $20!

At 2 for $20 I had to get these, as I'm pretty positive they're going to be a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe. I am especially a fan of wearing them with shorts, and maybe (rarely) some oxford flats.

BDG Breezy Button-Up - $48

I LOVE THIS SHIRT. And in this color. While this isn't my usual style, I'm loving anything seafoam right now, and the fact that it's kinda sheer makes it hot. I feel like I may be pairing this up with those sheer tights and cutoffs ;) Oh, and a black bra, did I mention that I love wearing a black bra with anything sheer? Maybe that's the Bama coming out in me..

Bug Charm Necklace - $12.99

Bugs are horrifying and I do not condone their existence in any way. However, I do appreciate their presence on art and jewelry.

BDG Below the Knee Pencil Skirt - $48

I ordered this in black, for fear that the grey may look a little cheap and not go with as much. This skirt is awesome because it goes with everything and can easily be dressed up or down. I cannot wait for it to come in!

Truly Madly Deeply Pima Slub V - $14.99

Sooooo maybe I already have this shirt in yellow, but it is without a doubt, the best tshirt I own. So of course I found it necessary to purchase another one (specifically in a color that was on sale instead of the normal $28 tag.) It is so super soft and comfy, but really flattering at the same time. A few weeks ago I wore the yellow one tucked in with super dark jeans and booties, and fixed my hair pin-up style to go to a show @ Lenny's here in Atlanta. It looked tough.

Truly Madly Deeply Asymmetrical Smoke Tunic - $24.99

well, I thought this was cute, but it was massive and not so cute on. oh well, you can't win em all.

Ecote Hurache Sandal - $19

Once again, not my usual taste, but for some reason I really dig these. They look comfy but also a little festive because of the gold color. Aaaand a bit more importantly, my current flops (which are the only sandals I ever wear) have been going strong for almost 6 years now and look pathetic at this point. While I'm usually an avid 4 in. and up fan, sometimes I just gotta give the ol' back a break. Seriously...I'm getting old..

Once upon a time, many a year ago, in a far away land, I did some pin-up modeling. Thankfully some of those days have stuck with me, and from time to time I feel the need to show that side of myself with a classy little number like this (obviously not from UO)...

The Super Spy Dress - $49.99

Gasp! I have been LIVING for this dress since the first time I saw it a few months back. Luckily I have the most perfect black patent pumps to go with it. And I can wear it to my office job, hooray! One less day they have to look at me in jeans, I'm sure everyone will be thrilled.

Lastly, since I am a bit on the nerdy side and have to purchase some sort of electronics any time I go on a shopping spree, I purchased these festive little headphones (because I've broken every other pair I've come in contact with over the past 3 months and I need them to make it through the days in my cubicle)

Cute, right?! Yes, I'm sure I will look very "hip" now sitting at my cube. Ha.

Welp, I hope you all enjoying that little preview into how I blow my mid-month paycheck. Or at least part of that paycheck, anyway. Sadly, I do have to save a little for food and bills, noooo fun. Well, you have succeeded in devastating me to the full extent.

While browsing your online store today, looking for items to post in my upcoming Fashion Edition blog entry, I stumbled upon THE most amazing shoes I have ever laid eyes on. I want these shoes more than I have ever wanted any pair of shoes in my entire life (well maybe), and you, with your separate UK and US sites, you took my dream of having the most bitchin' shoes ever and you flushed it straight down the toilet. For these lovelies are not available on the US site, and now I feel like you've just reached straight out of my computer screen and punched me in the throat. How dare you only allow your fellow UK's access to such badassness and fabulousity?!!!

For that, I now hate you. How will I ever get over these shoes? I feel like I've just died a little inside.

So today, I will share with you a few things that have made me almost burst into tears from viewing their fabulousness. Those tears are usually ones of sadness, mind you, because I can't afford most of these things, but at least they're still pretty to look at.

Atelier Chesterfield - $5998

I guess I should start with this amazing sofa from Anthropologie, since it inspired me to do this post. I was just browsing the site today, trying to avoid doing any work at my actual job, and almost fell out of my chair when I saw this. No, i'm totally serious. Pathetic, right? Behold!

Koro Light - $110

Everyone remembers how obsessed I am with festive lighting, right? Well I think this is MAGNIFICENT, especially since it's handmade. You can order one of these straight from Etsy, which is exactly what I'll being doing as soon as the white version is back in stock. How perfect and beautiful is this thing?! Oh, and if you'd like a smaller version, I think those are available for about half the price. :)

Dapple Light by Reiko Kaneko

Reiko Kaneko is a somewhat newer designer, but has a small collection of amazing pieces. And while this is yet, another light (I know I know), I had to post it. This piece was also at this years Milan Satellite exhibition.

Did Someone Say Drama Candleholder - $89

Normally I trash mystery catalogues that show up in my mailbox, however, when I got one from Wisteria I decided to flip through and see if they had anything worthwhile. Ooooh and they did they ever! I am really excited now, because they have something that I LOVE, and that I can actually afford! (ps - it's going in my bedroom)

Grandiose Mirror - $499

Mirrors are another one of my small obsessions. Although, I'm not sure why I like them so much, I'm definitely not vain. I'm actually scared to look them sometimes! (botox, please?)

Cooper's Draftsman Stool - $159

Yet another item I spotted in the Wisteria catalogue! Now this may not look like anything fancy, but I swear I almost peed my pants when I saw it. I've been in the process of turning our top floor loft into a workspace for Emil and I, and two of these would be PERFECT for the space. Hence, the gasp.

And that is all I have for you today! Whooo! I tried to remember if I've seen anything lately that was stunning, but you can't force the "gasp!" :)

On a side note, I will be making a very serious attempt to update more regularly. In the next few posts I'm hoping to include some photos of my own home, along with a few projects that I have done or am currently working on (I have a lot of those). There is also going to be another fashion edition (somewhat), so I can share some photos from a recent photoshoot I did with fellow Atlanta photographer Trent Chau. Yes, once again, it's been a while. I've been busy lately trying to keep myself occupied while Emil is still off on tour, so not lots of time for posting, but I promise to be back in full force very soon. I mean, especially since you people are practically beating down my door with all of your pithy comments. ;)
